December 18, 2024 | TRENDS
The beauty and fragrance industry continues to evolve and redefine boundaries as brands adapt to ever-changing consumer preferences. Emerging fragrance trends explore immersive aromas, and playful aesthetics to draw in consumer appeal. Sanctuary, Opulence, and Pristine Alpine provide a preview of three captivating fragrance trends that will define 2025 and beyond.
Sanctuary
Slow living content on social media is continuing to gain attention, pointing to a collective interest in mindfulness and overall well-being. This gentle lifestyle is reflected in fragrance with consumers beginning to reach for soothing aromas. Popular notes that exemplify this trend include linen, paper, and white musk. These are being paired with comforting gourmand notes like rice or matcha. Brand d’Annam created a white rice fragrance that includes rice, orris, white musk, and tonka.
Trendsetters: Liis, D’Annam, Diptyque. Method, Nest
Opulence
Brands are increasingly embracing rich, decadent fragrance profiles largely inspired by Arabic perfumery. Traditionally, these scents contain notes of oud, tonka, vanilla, amber, and jasmine. With vanilla continuing to trend, Opulent fragrances offer a bold alternative to traditional sweet vanilla blends. Kayali, a popular fine fragrance brand based in Dubai, is spearheading this shift of Arabic influence. Their newly released scent, ‘Vanilla Royale Patchouli’ features notes of vanilla, golden rum, patchouli, and oud.
Trendsetters: Maison Francis Kurkdijan, Kayali, Jo Malone, Hempz, Le Labo
Pristine Alpine
Nature-centric scents continue to be a consumer favorite, with brands drawing inspiration from salty mineral water, fresh greens, and the scent of rain to evoke a natural essence. Reflecting the alpine aesthetic, brands will draw inspiration from the mountainous landscape to inspire packaging and branding. Mystic Bliss by Goldfield & Banks is inspired by Aurora Australis lights, featuring notes of cooling Antarctic air, delicate violet, clary sage, and cedarwood.
Trendsetters: Brooklyn Candle, Vyrao, Future Society, Goldfield & Banks, Lake & Skye
